Hi friends, my name is Eskay Ng from Singapore.
Ng is my family name which means the color "yellow" in Chinese. Ng is a word without a vowel. I had friends from the West who addressed me as Mr Nog, Mr Angie and friends from The Philipines who called me Mr Nung.
No worry, there are no mistakes. In Singapore and Malaysia, The Yellows are translated as Wong, Ng, Wee, Oei, etc. The Chinese Pinyin is Huang. I answered to whatever as long as I could figured out I was the person you're looking for.

As for Starising, it is Star Rising with a single R. There were instances of certain departments from the local authorities called me asking for S-T-A rising, stare rising, star I sing dot com. I can't say, "Sorry, the star's not in" or "Oh, you've got the wrong star..." can I?
While checking out a hosting plan, I keyed in few names. Staring was the only one available. I registered it immediately fearing it would be taken the next minute.
The initial idea was either to build a site for midi music collection or other music related site. After the emergence of YouTube, I planned to use it to teach Guitaring on Chinese music.
In web planning section, I'll talk about passion and niche picking for your web.
Back in 2004, I was toying with this idea of setting a website for my club while I was serving as the Publc Relations Officer.
One of the duties was to publish the club's newsletter in printed version and I couldn't roll out the 1st issue in time.
I thought we could help the earth saves a few trees by producing the newsletter in electronic format. I was also exploring the possibility of recruiting members for the club through the web.
Little did I know it was a project that took 3 years years to complete...
The skill and knowledge of web building didn't take 3 years. It was the testing, tracking and tweaking of the web pages until they were able to achieve its objective.
I shall be providing a link here as soon as I touch on the subject of web marketing.
Till this day, the web I build from 2004 till 2007 continues to bring visitors to our club's fortweekly meeting.
If you're thinking starising dot com was a great domain name, you are right. I thought so back then.
It is short, unique and easy to remember. The only problem was I didn't know what to do with this web.
I continued to test web building on subdomains of this site after moving the non-profit site to its own domain
Only sites that had some success would I moved them out to its actual domain. The test continued until December 09 when I thought I should revamp this website and at the same time share with you my experience - the failure and success in web building.
This is not another site on "How to create your website". It would be meaningless to duplicate others who did before me and are more successful and more informative.
The difference in Starising is:
The revamp of this website consists of replanning, redesigning and rebuilding.
Deleting of the blog would made this site penalized in ranking, which I am prepared to lose. It's rebuilding from scratch - a fresh start just like any new website you are about to begin
If you discovered this web early, you'll be able to follow my rebuilding "live."
As I am writing this, only 6 pages were done.
Throughout this site, I shall make references to these 3 sites:
You will find the guide in this website helpful whether or not you decide to adopt this model.
I can't guarantee your success, but should you remain focus, avoid those mistakes I made in the past, your success will definetly come much earler.
Wish you every success in your making your own website.
