Just upgraded to 2.6. Instead of following the procedures given by WordPress, I uploaded the new version to a new folder. Then I copy the .htaccess and wp-config.php to the new folder.

It kept pointing back to the previous folder until I changed the path at the .htaccess.

So 3 things done in 1 go:

• upgraded to version 2.6
• installed at new folder
• change of theme

2 reasons for changing to a new folder.

• The previous version was installed at wp222. Not a good idea to name the folder after a version.
• My other blog lost the modified theme because of installing onto the same folder. Though I did the backup, but I couldn’t locate the folder. Couldn’t even remembered which PC I’ve downloaded to. Must have done something stupid. Didn’t followed the Upgrading instructions closely.

Anyway, it’s done.

Only 2 problems after the upgrade - the password didn’t work. I had to login with a new password.

Also the preview to the theme change didn’t work. It continued to show the default. Should not be an issue. Solve that later.

There were a few blogs warning of upgrading to WP2.6. I didn’t use those SEO plugins anyway. Didn’t even know it exist.
